The muscle system of the starfish is known as the water vascular system. In this system, the starfish's tube feet are pressed against a moving object where water enters through the madrephorite, which checks the water pressure and equally distributes the fluid. The water is then carried through a calcified canal to the circular ring canal which caused the ampullae to contract causing the tube feet to move very slowly.
