The masseter, the jaw muscle, provides the lion's teeth with the crushing and grinding power it needs in order to hunt. The lion has many thick neck muscles (stenomastoid, clavotrapezius, and the acromiotrapezius) that work simultaneously to carry heavy objects. Its massive thigh muscles (bicepts femoris) are used for quick and powerful sprints. It's forearms (biceps) are also extremely strong.
